To access the services of MSD Connect you must first read and accept these terms of use (“Terms of Use”).

MSD Connect Terms of Use

Please read these Terms of Use carefully before using the MSD Connect portal. By using MSD Connect, you agree to the Terms of Use.

Welcome to MSD Connect Jordan (the “Territory”). This site is operated by Merck Sharp & Dohme Idea GmbH Jordan RO, hereinafter “MSD”, a subsidiary of the Merck & Co, Inc., Rahway, NJ, USA (hereinafter “Merck” or “Merck & Co”). Merck & Co. discovers, develops, manufactures, and markets medicines.

1. Definitions

Portal: The Portal refers to the website www.msdconnect-jo.com.

User: The User is any person who uses MSD Connect (hereinafter the “Portal” or “MSD Connect Portal”) or one of the services offered on the MSD Connect Portal.

Product: The term product designates a pharmacologically active substance or a medical device.

2. Acceptance

By using the MSD Connect Portal you agree to be bound by, and to comply with the Terms of Use (hereafter “MSD Connect ToU”). MSD reserves the right to change the Terms of Use from time to time, as necessary, and will provide notice to the Users, on this page, of any such changes, including the date they became effective. You may access this page at any time through the Terms of Use link at the bottom of each page on the MSD Connect Portal.

3. Scope

The MSD Connect Terms of Use apply solely to your use of MSD Connect and related services. MSD operates other web sites which are governed by their own terms published on those sites. References to “MSD” apply to the pharmaceutical business of MSD.

4. Description of the service

MSD Connect Portal is a website that allows healthcare professionals to create a user account, consult medical information on various products approved and marketed by MSD, as well as information on associated therapeutic areas, or not, as well as various services.

All information concerning MSD products contained on the MSD Connect Portal is intended for adults, health care professionals duly authorized to practice in the Territory. Nothing on this Portal should be construed as the giving of advice or the making of a recommendation regarding any decision or action related to your health or the health of others. As a healthcare professional, you should not allow the content of this Portal to substitute for your own medical judgement, which you should exercise in evaluating the information on this Portal. We also recommend that you consult other sources and professional references before any analysis or treatment decision.

Commitment (health care professionals only). By registering to MSD Connect, you are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide to us, including your health care professional registration number. In addition, you declare and guarantee that you are a health care professional duly authorized to practice in the Territory. You also agree to comply with the MSD Connect Terms of Use.

A User’s personal account includes his identifiers, entrusted by MSD, which are placed under the exclusive responsibility of the User. The User undertakes to keep them secret and not to disclose them in any form to unauthorized third parties. The User is solely responsible for the use made of his identifiers, even if the User pre-registers his identifiers on his computer or on any other type of equipment, thus allowing automatic connection to the MSD Connect Portal, so that it is up to the User to be particularly vigilant with regard to his identifiers.

Any access, use of a User’s username and password and transmission of data made from a User’s account will be deemed to have been made by the latter. Safeguarding the confidentiality of the password entrusted to the user is the sole responsibility of the latter.

Any loss, misappropriation or unauthorized use of a User’s identifiers and their consequences are the sole responsibility of that User. In all the cases mentioned above, the User is required to notify MSD, without delay, by electronic message, to the following address: msd_levna@merck.com, so that MSD can proceed with the deletion of the identifier or the password concerned.

MSD Connect Portal is only dedicated to health care professionals in the Territory. No medical content is available to non-health care professionals.

Your access to information contained in the MSD Connect Portal and the use you may make of it are subject to the MSD Connect Terms of Use and to any law or regulation applicable in the Territory.

6. Registration and protection of personal data

Access to certain services of the MSD Connect Portal is subject to registration on MSD Connect Portal and the creation of an MSD Connect User account.

By registering on the MSD Connect Portal, MSD processes the information collected for the creation of your User account and your authentication for the purposes of using the MSD Connect Portal.

The personal data collected may be captured by the service provider AWS whose servers are located in Dublin, Ireland.

You can access and rectify your personal data information by contacting MSD_privacy_office@msd.com. For legitimate reasons, you can also oppose the processing of your personal data.

7. Intellectual Property

All trademarks, logos, designs, illustrations, slogans and graphics appearing on MSD Connect, in whatever form, are the property of Merck & Co. or its subsidiaries, or are used under license. MSD Connect may also include references to patents, technologies, products, processes whose rights are reserved by MSD or a third party. You do not acquire any rights to such materials in connection with your use of MSD Connect. You may not distribute, modify, transmit, upload or represent the content of MSD Connect, and in particular the content, images and videos, without the written authorization of MSD. You must consider that each element present on MSD Connect is subject to copyright, unless otherwise indicated, and may not be used, except as provided on the Site or in these Terms of Use, without the written authorization of MSD. MSD cannot guarantee that your use of materials on MSD Connect will not infringe the rights of third parties.

8. Disclaimer

MSD provides no express or implied warranty, without this enumeration being exhaustive, concerning the continuity, performance, durability, quality or absence of vice or defect of MSD Connect Portal, eviction and non-violation of laws and regulations or these MSD Connect Terms of Use by Users.

The User acknowledges that his use of the MSD Connect Portal is at his own risk. MSD Connect is provided “as is” and is accessible without any guarantee of availability and regularity. MSD will endeavor to make MSD Connect available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, except in the event of force majeure or an event beyond the control of MSD and subject to maintenance periods, possible breakdowns, technical contingencies related to the nature of the Internet or malicious acts or any damage to MSD hardware or software.

MSD can in no way be held responsible for an interruption of MSD Connect Portal and access to other services that are provided, regardless of the causes, duration or frequency of this interruption.

The photos published on the Portal have been chosen for illustration purposes and are the result of a purely aesthetic choice. These photos have no contractual value and are not intended to present MSD products as they are distributed.

9. Consequences

MSD reserves the right, if you violate the MSD Connect Terms of Use, to suspend or terminate your MSD Connect account. If such breach results in injury to others, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless MSD against all losses, damages or expenses. If any dispute arises between us regarding these Terms or your use of MSD Connect Portal, it will be resolved amicably through good faith negotiations. If these attempts prove ineffective, any dispute or complaint will be submitted to the competent jurisdiction.
